Office Policies

How Are Appointments Scheduled?

Dr Roya and her staff will attempt to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are fresher and we can work more slowly with them for their comfort. School children with a lot of work to be done should be seen in the morning for the same reason. Dental appointments are an excused absence. Missing school can be kept to a minimum when regular dental care is continued.

It is also important to know that Dr Roya makes every attempt to remain on schedule throughout the day. We value your time and will do our best to keep you from having to wait. We reserve appointments for your child according to their needs and level of cooperation. Each child is an individual, and some may require more "tender loving care" than others. We ask for your patience, and that you keep in mind that your child may be the next one needing extra attention.

Since appointed times are reserved exclusively for each patient we ask that you please notify our office 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time if you are unable to keep your appointment. Another patient, who needs our care, could be scheduled if we have sufficient time to notify them. We realize that unexpected things can happen, but we ask for your assistance in this regard.

Inclement weather policy - In the case of inclement weather, our office will follow DC public school closings. If you are unsure, please contact our office prior to leaving for your appointment or check our Facebook page.

Do I Stay With My Child During the Dental Visit?

Parents are always invited to remain with their child during the appointment but we ask you to please allow our staff to guide your child through the dental experience by establishing a close rapport with them. Our purpose is to gain your child’s confidence and overcome apprehension.

What About Finances?

Payment for professional services is due at the time dental treatment is provided. Every effort will be made to provide a treatment plan that fits your timetable and budget, and gives your child the best possible care. We accept cash, personal checks, debit cards and most major credit cards. We are also happy to submit your claim to your insurance company for you if you provide us with your current insurance information.

Our Office Policy Regarding Dental Insurance

If we have received all of your insurance information on the day of the appointment, we will be happy to file your claim for you. Please understand that we file dental insurance as a courtesy to our patients. We do not have a contract with your insurance company, only you do. You must be familiar with your insurance benefits, as we will collect from you the full cost of treatment at the time of your visit. By law your insurance company is required to pay each claim within 30 days of receipt. We file all insurance quickly, so your insurance company will receive each claim within days of the treatment. The insurance company will then send a refund check to you directly. Please keep in mind that not all insurance companies will pay 100% of the cost of treatment, so knowing your insurance companies policies prior to receiving any dental treatment is important.
